Photo Printed on Parachute Silk
When I dress up in my traditional Arab gown called Thoub with typical embroidery, am I Arab or do I disguise? Am I more German because I have the blue eyes of my Belgian grandpa? Brought up within two cultures, origins and religions and having only one face to show, I try to avoid the classification of “halves” and “mixed”. Asking other people in the same situation, they feel being close to both poles, in changing intensity. DISGUISE tries to make visible how impossible it is to judge by outward appearance.
